Overview

It has been 10,938 days since the last E30 rolled off the BMW production floor in 1994. Regardless of whether your car has 20k miles, 100k miles, or 1 million miles on the odometer, the metal used to construct your subframe is getting weaker and weaker by the day, but there is no need to fear, as our new E30 low-profile subframe is here! 

Our new front subframes are designed to OEM E30 front subframe specifications and are made from 304 Stainless Steel. These subframes are laser cut and professionally TIG welded to ensure that each subframe is straighter, stronger, and more durable than any 30-year-old OEM subframe. Speaking of which, unlike with an OEM subframe, there is no need to reinforce our stainless steel subframes as we designed them to be reinforced in areas where the subframe experiences the most force such as the motor, sway bar, and steering rack mounting locations. Gone are the days of your E30 subframe cracking, bending, or breaking! 

Swap Applications

When motor swapping your E30 with anything from an S50 to an LS, the additional power requires additional strength, and will sometimes require additional oil pan clearance. Well, our new stainless steel subframe is drastically thinner at the hoop section creating 1" more clearance between the subframe and oil pan, while also being stronger in nearly every way. 

Steering Rack Options

Included with each E30 low-profile subframe you will receive two sets of steering rack mounting brackets. The taller of the two brackets is intended for use with E30 steering racks, while the shorter brackets are designed to work with later-generation steering racks such as the Z3, E36, E46, and Z4 steering rack, without the need to run the steering rack swap spacers, thus giving additional clearance between the steering rack brackets and oil pan, which is a necessity with many swaps! 

Increased Serviceability

Our steering rack tabs are designed to be bolted on and off. This makes removing the steering rack a breeze. No more bending tabs or having to drop the subframe to get to the steering rack. 

Durability/Strength

No longer do we have to deal with 30-year-old E30 front subframes with ripped motor mount locations, or cracked or missing sway bar mounting tabs! This means that you can run stiff motor mounts and thick sway bars without fearing for your subframe's life.

Fitment Note

Please keep in mind, that these 30-year-old E30 chassis have some history so the subframe you receive may not be an exact fit for your car. The E30 chassis has been known to flex quite a bit over time but they can also be manipulated to fit your new subframe with some simple techniques. If you have an alignment issue with your new subframe, please reach out to us at [email protected]. The longer you wait to install the subframe, the more difficult it becomes for us to provide you with adequate support.
